Todd Chaffee, General Partner
Todd Chaffee joined IVP as a Managing Director and General Partner in March 2000. He focuses on venture capital investments in rapidly growing media, travel, and technology companies. Todd has been recognized by Forbes and The New York Times as one of the world’s top venture capitalists. He is ranked #6 on the Forbes Midas List of Top 10 Founder VCs and has appeared on every Forbes Midas List for the past eight years. He was also selected for the New York Times / CB Insights List of Top 100 Venture Capitalists and the Morgan Stanley / AlwaysOn Top 100 VC List.
Tracy Hogan, CFO
Tracy Hogan is the Chief Financial Officer of Elevation Partners. Tracy has over eight years of experience in the private equity finance, administration and operations areas.
Prior to joining Elevation, Tracy was the Vice-President of Finance at Fox Paine & Company, a private equity firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Before that, Tracy was the Vice President of Finance at Code Hennessy & Simmons LLC, a private equity firm based in Chicago. Prior to joining Code Hennessy & Simmons LLC, Tracy spent four years with Ernst & Young’s Audit Practice in Chicago and Boston.
Tracy is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.B.A. degree from Saint Mary’s College where she graduated magna cum laude.
Sandy Miller, General Partner
Sandy Miller is a General Partner at Institutional Venture Partners (IVP). He focuses on later-stage venture and growth equity investments in technology, Internet and digital media companies.
As the lifecycle of care needs continues to grow and expand for today’s families, Sandy was naturally drawn to Care.com’s mission to solve these challenges by connecting families with care providers via its service, which is the largest online care destination in the world.
Sandy has more than 35 years of venture capital and technology investment banking experience and has served on over 20 public, private, and philanthropic boards. Sandy is one of only eight venture capitalists who have been included in all of the Forbes Midas Lists of the “Top 100 Venture Capitalists in the World” since 2007.
Jules Maltz, General Partner
Jules Maltz joined IVP in August 2008 and has over ten years of venture capital and startup experience. He focuses on later-stage venture investments in rapidly-growing Internet and software companies. Jules was recognized by AlwaysOn as one of the top 100 venture capitalists by his inclusion in the AlwaysOn 2012 and 2013 VC 100 List and by GrowthCap as #2 on the GrowthCap Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors List.

Somesh Dash joined Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) in March of 2005. He focuses primarily on later-stage investments in Internet, software, wireless, and technology-enabled services companies. Eric Liaw, General Partner
Eric Liaw joined IVP in 2011. He is focused primarily on later-stage investments in high growth companies across a variety of sectors including enterprise software, Internet, and mobile. Eric serves as a Board Director or Observer for IVP portfolio companies AdRoll, App Annie, The Honest Company, Mindbody, OnDeck, RetailMeNot (SALE), Supercell, Wikia, and ZipRecruiter and led IVP’s investments in GitHub and Klarna. He previously served as a Board Director for Dropcam (GOOG) and was actively involved with DeNA, HomeAway (AWAY), MarkMonitor (TRI), and Varolii (NUAN).
Steve Harrick, General Partner
Steve Harrick joined Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) as a General Partner in October 2001 and has over 17 years of venture capital experience. Steve focuses on investing in later-stage technology companies with exceptional growth potential. Specifically, Steve targets Internet, communications and technology-enabled services companies which have the potential to become leaders in their respective markets. Steve enjoys working closely with committed entrepreneurs to help create businesses that are both respected and revolutionary.
Dennis Phelps, General Partner
Dennis Phelps joined Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) in October 2001 and has over fifteen years of experience in technology-related finance. He focuses primarily on growth capital investments in software, Internet, mobile, wireless and digital media companies, as well as select public market opportunities. Dennis was recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of the top 100 venture capitalists in the world by his inclusion in the 2009 Forbes Midas List. He was also recognized by AlwaysOn as one of the top 100 venture capitalists by his inclusion in the AlwaysOn 2009 VC 100 List.
Norm Fogelsong, Advisory Partner
Norm Fogelsong joined Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) in March 1989. With more than 30 years of high-technology venture capital and growth equity experience, he emphasizes investments in private later-stage companies and in select public market opportunities. Norm has led investments in Artisan Components (ARTI), Aspect Communications, Compaq Computers (CPQ), Concur Technologies (CNQR), Convex Computers (CNVX), Cortina Systems (IPHI), Danger (MFST), Dataminr, InphoMatch (SAP), Integrated Circuit Works (CY), Lam Research (LRCX), Marketo (MKTO), Mindbody (MB), MobileIron (MOBL), Platinum Software (PSQL), Polycom (PLCM), SkyStream Networks (ERIC), TelCom Semiconductor (TLCM), and Websense (WBSN). Christopher Esqueda, Vice President of Finance
Christopher is responsible for fund accounting, tax reporting, audit management, and financial reporting at IVP. He brings more than 20 years of financial experience to his position as Vice President of Finance.
Prior to joining IVP, Christopher was a Controller at PS’Soft, a global provider of Asset Management, Service Management and Software License Compliance solutions, where he was responsible for worldwide finance and accounting, human resources, and risk management. Previously, Christopher was the Controller at BenefitPoint, a web-based company providing benefits management and procurement solutions, and Liquid Software, an enterprise application integration company. Christopher started his career with Ernst & Young as a Senior Accountant.
Christopher is an active member of VCBC, a 350+ member organization of finance professionals in venture capital and private equity across the United States.
Gina Bauman, SVP of Marketing and Investor Relations
Gina is responsible for creating and managing the marketing, investor relations, and communication programs at IVP as well as working closely with firm’s portfolio companies.
Ms. Bauman brings extensive marketing, communications, and media relations experience to IVP. Gina joined IVP from BlueRun Ventures (BRV), a global venture capital firm, where she was responsible for marketing, communications, and operations. In her ten year tenure with the firm she managed marketing strategy, public relations, investor communications, and portfolio company marketing support.
Saydeah Howard, SVP of Talent a& Venture Services
Saydeah E. Howard has served as our Vice President of Human Resources & Organizational Development since July 2011.
Previously, she served as Senior Director, Talent Management & Acquisition and led our recruiting team from April 2010 to July 2011.
Prior to joining LeapFrog, Ms. Howard served as an Associate at Russell Reynolds Associates, an international executive search and assessment firm, from December 2006 to April 2010.
Kelly O’Kane, VP of Business Development
Kelly O’Kane joined IVP in 2012 as an Associate on the Investment Team where she worked on IVP’s investments in Dataminr, Oportun, Prosper, TuneIn, Zendesk (ZEN), and ZEFR. She was promoted to Senior Associate in 2014. Kelly returned to IVP in 2017 as the Vice President of Business Development after completing the M.B.A. program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Kelly is responsible for creating and managing new external outreach programs that leverage IVP’s extensive resources and relationships to benefit the firm’s portfolio companies and Limited Partners. She also works extensively across the organization to coordinate business development and fundraising activities.
Thomas Loverro, Principal
Tom Loverro joined IVP in April 2015. He focuses on investing in later-stage, high-growth consumer and enterprise companies. Tom currently serves as a Board Observer on Coinbase and NerdWallet and actively worked on IVP’s investments in Amplitude, GitHub, OnDeck (ONDK) and Tanium.
Tom was previously a Principal at RRE Ventures, a leading early stage venture firm, where he led or co-led investments in Avant, Base, Braintree (PYPL), Bread Finance, CollectiveHealth, CoverHound and NerdWallet, and was a Board Observer at On Deck Capital (ONDK).
Roseanne Wincek, Principal
Roseanne Wincek joined Canaan Partners’ Menlo Park office in 2012 and is an Associate on the Technology team.
Prior to joining Canaan, Roseanne worked as a product manager in both consumer and enterprise startups, including imthemusic, NextBio, and Wiser You. She was also an associate with McKinsey & Company in their Financial Institutions Group Practice, serving big banks out of the New York office.
Parsa Saljoughian, Principal
Parsa Saljoughian joined IVP in August 2012. He focuses primarily on identifying and evaluating later-stage investments in high growth companies across a variety of sectors including enterprise software, Internet, and mobile.
Parsa actively worked on IVP’s investments in AdRoll, App Annie, Datalogix (ORCL), Dropcam (GOOG), Indiegogo, SoundCloud, Supercell (SoftBank), Uproxx, Vessel (VZN), Whip Networks, and Wikia.

Armaan Ali joined IVP in September 2016. He focuses on identifying and evaluating later-stage investments across the technology industry, including enterprise software, Internet and digital media, and mobile.

Jason Kong, Associate
Jason Kong joined IVP in August 2017. He focuses on identifying and evaluating later-stage enterprise and consumer technology investments.
Jason actively works with IVP portfolio companies AlienVault, Checkr, Dataminr, Inspirato, Personal Capital, POPSUGAR, Rubrik, Slack, Sumo Logic, The Honest Company, Twyla, and Zenefits.
Alexander Lim, Senior Associate
Alexander Lim joined Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) in March 2015. He focuses on identifying and evaluating later-stage enterprise software, Internet, and mobile investments.
Alex actively works with IVP portfolio companies AddThis, AdRoll, Ayasdi, Hipmunk, ThreatStream, and Yodlee (YDLE).
Prior to IVP, Alex worked in the Technology Investment Banking group at Credit Suisse, where he was involved in numerous strategic and financing transactions for a variety of companies in the enterprise software and hardware industries.
