J. Robert “Bo” Collins, Jr., Co-founder and Managing Member
Mr. Collins served as the President of the New York Mercantile Exchange for 3 years. During that time, he led NYMEX to an initial S&P credit rating of A++, its recognition by Energy Risk magazine as the 2004 “Exchange of the Year”, and its creation of Clearport Clearing, the first commercially successful OTC clearing platform.
Before leading NYMEX, Mr. Collins served as Senior Vice President at El Paso Merchant Energy, where he was the head derivatives trader in natural gas and led the trading team to earn more than $1,000,000,000 in annual revenue. During his partnership with NASDAQ circa 2008, Mr. Collins was a founding partner in a new clearinghouse, the International Derivatives Clearing Group (IDCG), which was recently sold to LCH Clearnet.
He has also served as an Options Market Maker on the trading floor at NYMEX and worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Mr. Collins has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University.
Robert Cavnar, CEO
Mr. Cavnar is an energy executive and trusted advisor to business executives and owners, is a 40 plus year veteran of the oil and gas industry with deep experience in operations, start-ups, turn-arounds, and management of both public and private companies. He became an advisor to Lone Star Capital in 2016. He began his career in field operations including drilling, completion, and production of oil and gas wells, construction and operation of processing plants, and management of onshore and offshore facilities. He has led mergers and acquisitions, as well as equity and debt offerings in public and private markets. Mr. Cavnar has held senior executive positions including Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer at Companies such as Milagro Exploration, Mission Resources, El Paso Corporation, Cornerstone Natural Gas, Mountain Gas Resources, Presidio Oil and the Global Energy Group of Chase Manhattan Bank.
Mr. Cavnar holds an MBA from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, a BS from Eastern Michigan University, and completed the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School.
